The story
Jimmy Owens led 97 of 100 laps to repeat as Show-Me 100 champion, losing the lead only briefly to Jared Landers.
Owens set fast time among 55 cars at Lucas Oil Speedway on May 26, 2012, with a lap of 15.513 seconds. He also won his heat before taking command at the start of the feature. Period RacinDirt footage and FastTrackPhotos award checks both confirm the May 26 date, correcting the May 28 date shown in the Dirt on Dirt results record.
Owens led the first 48 laps before Landers moved ahead for three circuits. Owens reclaimed the lead on lap 52 and controlled the remaining 49 laps for another $30,000 victory.
John Blankenship finished second, Dennis Erb Jr. third, Austin Hubbard fourth and Billy Moyer fifth. Owens became the fourth driver to win consecutive editions, and the 29-car feature paid a listed total of $87,200.
