The story
Jimmy Owens won a late duel with Scott Bloomquist, reclaiming the lead on lap 92 to capture his fourth Show-Me 100 title.
The May 28, 2016, feature followed preliminary victories by Jonathan Davenport and Jared Landers in a 57-car field. Davenport led the opening 44 laps before Landers and Bloomquist took turns at the front.
Owens moved ahead on lap 75 and led through lap 90. Bloomquist regained the lead for lap 91, but Owens answered immediately and controlled the final nine circuits for the $30,000 victory.
Bloomquist finished second, with Jesse Stovall third, Davenport fourth and Tony Jackson Jr. fifth. The win moved Owens within one of Bloomquist’s event record, and the 30-car feature paid $130,700 in listed payouts.
